No Pressure!

My company is changing insurance plans as of January 2010. They are making the change in such a way that it will mean they get around the Maryland Mandate for fertility coverage.

Awesome.

This means that I must get IVF#3 done in 2009, which means I must get started by August, in case I have another debacle with a couple cancelled cycles before I can move forward again.

Stupid insurance.

I'm so sorry! Just back online after a week and I was really hoping to see gorgeous shots of your pee-stick collection in all its glory ... not talk about next cycle. I really hope you figure out the scheduling and next cycle is the one that works.

And I'm glad your husband continues to stay optimistic. My husband is as naive as can be ("why would you be worried about twins?" is just one question I got) and I find it quite useful at times to get away from all the awful statistics and scary stories that we all know so well (and you know better than most of us).

Yeah, I live in a state that mandates insurance parity for both mental health and infertility and my company also gets around since they self-insure. They do provide coverage for both, but at a capped lifetime payout amount that would barely cover 3 IVF cycles. Hang in there, third times' the charm, right? At least, that's what I'm telling myself about this IUI cycle.

Oh, crap. I've been away from blogs for a while, but I'm so sorry to hear that you're having to plan next cycle.

and is what the insurance company is doing actually legal? Sounds so fishy and... um... weaselly!

well, i was sort of excited about cycling together in august.. so i'm sort of glad. i really really want you to be able to grow your family! so i'm hoping for august success for both of us. let's get pregnant and then make them pay for a birth and health insurance for the baby! that is the best revenge for the insurance company!

That sort of get-around needs to be outlawed. GRRRRR.

Oh Karen... I'm so sorry. Just checking in and reading back to the beginning of the week. I wish this cycle had had a different outcome.
I am hoping #3 is quick and dirty (and successful.) Stupid insurance. (How does that work- the getting around the state mandate?)

Insurance really sucks sometimes, doesn't it? I hope you can get the ball rolling soon enough.
