On a Scale of 1 to 10...

Holy Crap, I'm still in so much pain from today's HSG that I think I might throw up. It comes and goes in waves, but this is really not feeling great. I'm not enjoying this.

Update (6am, Wed.): The pain has subsided quite a bit, but I'm still really nauseated. It is possible the nausea was unrelated to the pain and HSG entirely.

oh, i'm so sorry, karen!! i mean, i know it's all for a good cause, but still...it's gotta suck! can't your hubby give you somethin' for the pain? do they shoot air up there, in addition to the dye? i never had an HSG, but i had some sort of lower GI thing where they shot air up the OTHER, ahem, place, and WOW, the pain the rest of the day! and same with my laporascopic tubal - air = pain. (((hugs)))

I had a HORRIBLY painful HSG experience too. The Darvocet that they prescribed hardly covered the pain but it did help. I hope you got something good. hang in there.

Did they find blocked tubes, or any other anomolies? That was the only time out of 3 HSG's that I had any pain like you describe.

#2 & 3 were a breeze once they were done, so I am concerned that you have this remarkable pain...

Just found out about this blog. I had a horrific HSG experience - was literally more painful than birth (and I had 2 completely epidural-free births, so I'm not just saying that). I fainted from the pain. I was OK though it all and then I got up and thought I was going to die. They left me there to get dressed and I later found myself more than half naked on the floor, unable to stand up. I don't know how long I was that way until finally someone came in to check on me. They then gave me tylenol and basically told me not to make such a big deal out of it...
